Chorus - First tier of the three Choirs at North Farmington High School, this Choir is made up of younger voices and/or students who want to continue building foundational skills. We focus most on proper vocal technique, blending as a group, and understanding the many facets that make up a musical performance. Most performances will include unison and two-part pieces with the occasional three-part piece.
Concert Choir - Second in the three tiers, Concert Choir is made up of experienced singers who want to bridge the gap between foundational material and taking initiative to apply previous musical knowledge to new pieces. This class is meant to challenge students to become independent musicians, while continuing to reinforce foundational skills. These students will often combine with the Chorus to assist in producing a fuller, richer sound. Most performances will include two-part and three-part pieces alongside Chorus.
Madrigal Choir - Top in the three tiers, Madrigal Choir is made up of the more experienced, independent musicians. Singers in this group have learned foundational skills, applied prior knowledge to each new piece, and demonstrated the ability to make independent musical decisions. These members are strong music readers and are able to sight-read accurately. Most performances will include three-part mixed and four-part mixed music. This group is an auditioned group and numbers depend on the balance within each section.
